Privacy is at the foundation of Origin. Origin is operated by Maker Platforms, Inc. D/B/A Origin Platforms ("Origin," "we," "us").

This policy explains what information we collect from members and applicants, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Application and profile information: your name, email address, company and role, and anything else you share when applying or building your member profile.
• Payment information: dues are processed by Stripe. Origin does not store your full card or bank details; Stripe handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
• Community activity: content you share in Origin spaces such as the member dashboard, group chats, and calls.
• Event information: registration details for in-person events you attend.
• Device & Usage Data: Like most digital platforms, we automatically log basic technical information when you use Origin, such as your IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to run the community: reviewing applications, managing memberships and billing, operating the member dashboard, organizing events and programming, and communicating with you about Origin. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We respect the privacy of the Origin network. We do not and will never sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

We only share your information in the following ways:

• With Other Members: Origin is a community. Your profile information, Feed posts, and poll interactions are visible to other verified members. Direct Messages are strictly private between you and the recipient(s).
• With Essential Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third-party tools that help us run the platform (e.g., secure cloud hosting, payment processors, and email providers). These providers are strictly bound to protect your data and only use it for the services they provide to us.
• For Legal Reasons: If required by a valid legal request (like a subpoena) or to protect the safety and rights of Origin and our members, we may disclose your information.

4. Photos and Media at Events

We may take photos or recordings at Origin events for community and promotional use. If you'd prefer not to be included, let the Origin team know at the event or at team@originmember.com

5. Data Retention

We keep your information while you're a member and for a reasonable period afterward for legitimate purposes such as records, reapplication review, and legal compliance. You can request deletion of your information at any time.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You can review and update your profile information on the member dashboard, update your payment details through Stripe, and contact us (team@originmember.com) to access, correct, or delete your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws, and we will honor them.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Please use good judgment about what you share.

8. Age Requirement

Origin is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will notify members of material changes. Continued membership after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
